The mountains of North Carolina are a great place for all kinds of fun during the summer. The activities at Camp Pinnacle include but are by no means limited to the following:
Our fun, safe program teaches responsibility and allows campers to earn patches by garnering points for good marksmanship.
Tennis periods focus on building skills with friendly competition. Our tennis team often challenges local camps and country clubs to tournaments (We've never lost, by the way).
We play soccer, basketball, volleyball, tetherball, ultimate Frisbee, and much, much more. We always begin with the basics and provide plenty of challenge for every skill level.
Archery is all about staying on the target. Campers improve their skills and attain levels as they practice this challenging sport.
Our program focuses on safety and fun and teaches riders of every level of ability. Horse shows are scheduled on the third Sunday of camp and parents are welcome to attend.
Creative energies explode at our craft shop! Campers fashion projects with a variety of media including wood, paint, and clay. Bring your imagination – we'll provide the skill!
The climbing tower has a forty foot wall, zipline, and rappelling platform. Graduate from the climbing wall and you're ready to try your skills on some real mountains. From beginner all the way to advanced, we offer rock climbing trips for everyone.
Our awesome ropes course is suspended forty feet above the ground. This challenge–by–choice course has many different elements in the air and on the ground. It is great for team building with a cabin and for individual challenge. Don't miss the final element – a fantastic leap of faith!
Travel out of camp on a biking trip that takes full advantage of the amazing terrain around Camp Pinnacle. Popular trips include Dupont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest.
We make regular trips to local lakes including lake Kiowee, that offer plenty of room for mastering water skiing. From beginner to advanced, you'll find plenty of challenge and fun when you hit the water with Pinnacle!
Each day, all campers enjoy a general swim period where they are free to play on our fabulous water toys including the blob, jump island, a rope swing, a monkey bridge, and many more.
Our kayaking classes begin with instruction and training on Wolfe lake. Once the basics are mastered, campers embark on trips to great whitewater rivers nearby. There is a river right for everyone from beginner to advanced and we run them all.
Canoe lessons culminate in a regatta where not only canoes and rafts, but several wacky watercraft make an appearance.
